    Great, easy-to-read and follow
    This book was recommended to me by one of my professors for my MBA thesis. It helps simplify the process of researching a project that seems overwhelming or complicated by providing clear, logical, easy to understand and follow steps. It provides examples that really help grasp the main sections in the thesis (literature review, methodology, results, discussion). It's a great tool to help organize and present the material in fine academic style. For me, it was the one and only book I used for my project, and it was definitely worth the investment!


    Dissertation Book
    This is an excellent book that was in very good condition. It is like new. I love it.


    A Graduate Student's Best Friend
    This is an excellent,well-written guide for graduate students. It fills in all the information the average committee fails to tell the student.If a student follows the text, he or she should have a successful experience; consequently,I have recommended this book to numerous students. I was particularly happy to see the section on dealing with problem committees or problem advisors. I edit theses and dissertations for a living, and every other one comes from a student with a bad advisor.


    Not a good general guide for writing a thesis
    Regarding the other reviewer's review of this book, I AM in the social sciences field and yet I still feel that this is not a good reference for everyone. I concur that the book markets itself as a "general" guidebook, yet it spends a great deal of time detailing how to go about selecting your committe, which is rather irrelevant for me as my thesis advisor is selected by my university. I agree with the notion that the book is just too specific. It's probably a good resource for someone that is in the field of edcuation (I'm not...I'm in psychology)at a "traditional" university where you will be putting together a committee and choosing which professors you want to work with on educational research. If this doesn't apply to you, don't waste your time on this book.

    The first few chapters there was some useful general information, so I give it 2 stars. However, from that point on I, like the other reviewer, stopped reading the text because it became apparent it was no longer relevant for my Master's thesis. Also, the book again markets itself as a guide for a thesis or dissertation, but there is a noticeable bias towards those in PhD programs writing a dissertation. The authors should retitle the book: "Writing the Winning Dissertation in Educational Research in a traditional university setting where you are able to select your thesis committe: A Step-by-Step Guide." This would be more accurate and honest!


    Not for Everyone...
    My problem with this book extends from the fact that it advertises itself as a general book about writing a thesis. From its description the authors of the book would have you believe that this book is for everyone in any field. In actuality, this book has an extreme bias towards the social sciences and humanities, most notably education research. If you are in one of these fields this book is an excellent resource for you, and I recommend it to you. However, if you are in a science or engineering field, like myself, than this book will be of no help to you. I bought this book to help me with my thesis believing that it was a general reference. I received this impression after reading both its description and table of contents on Amazon. When I actually got the book, I realized its extreme bias very early on but kept reading attempting to extract useful information from it. The more I read, the more I was disappointed. It details things such as "problem statements," "research participants," "research methodology," "ERIC: Education Resources Information Center," etc. and omits any information relevant to a thesis in the sciences or engineering. When reading the book I finally came across a section on detailing your research instruments. This confused me greatly as when I read it instantly thought of the measurement equipment I used in my lab when I read the phrase research instruments. I went so far as to ask people I knew in the social sciences and found out that the author was referring to items such as surveys used to collect data from study participants in social science research. It was at this time I stopped reading the book because it was very clear to me that it had no application to my field and the book itself was a complete waste of my time and money.

    I'd like to take this opportunity reiterate that my negative review stems from the fact that this book masquerades itself as a general reference guide. This is no doubt an act of dishonesty. From my perspective I have been lied to and cheated. I do highly recommend this book, however, if you are in one of the fields it is written for. If you are in the sciences or engineering like myself, than I highly recommend the book "Enjoy Writing Your Science Thesis or Dissertation!: A Step by Step Guide to Planning and Writing Dissertations and Theses for Undergraduate and Graduate Science Students" by Elizabeth Fisher and Daniel Holtom. I bought this book after giving up on the one detailed in this review, and have benefited greatly from the information it has conveyed.

      Required for class but good reading
      This was required for a graduate class and it was a good outline to writing reasearch journals. Well written.


      Easy Read and Simplifies the Process
      While working through my thesis I was required, and also elected, to purchase several books. Johnson's book is by far the easiest to read and puts this sometimes daunting process into a manageable perspective. It's not enough all by itself, but it is a must have addition.


      Simple but clear
      This book is required for a graduate class in special education research. It is a practical and simply-written guide to producing decent research in the field of education. While action research is not as "rigorous" as traditional, scientific research, there are benefits for trying a strategy and measuring results. Whatever we can do to measure what we're doing, and report/share it, is good!


      Good Project Starter
      I bought this book to have a glimpse at what was awaiting me in my upcoming Action Research class for my masters program. I found the samples much better in comparison to the custom book that my program offered for this class. It gives a step by step directions, I know I will have to use it for further classes in my upcoming Doctorate degree. This book is a good place to start if you have no idea of where and how to start your project for research.


      Simple and complete.
      This book will tell you exactly how to conduct an action research project in your school or classroom. It takes you through ever step of the process and describes how reports and papers should be presented. It presents a variety of ideas for data and data collection, and describes how to analyze qualitative data. the most important chapter for me was the chapter that described how to use action research for a thesis or disertation. The author describes what would go into each chapter.

            The right book for the job
            If you are going to take care of your e38 the way you are supposed to, then you better have the right tools. Your tool list should start with this manual.

            If you own one of these cars, you need this manual. BMW doesn't give out any information to maintain them, they expect you to take it to the dealer...


            diy lifesaver
            If you are mechanically competent and have the ambition to tackle maintenance on your BMW this manual is a must. I purchased the manual after coming to a grinding halt while replacing the struts and installing lowering springs on my car. The stoppage occurred when trying to locate the rear strut mounts. The mounts are located inside the cabin under the rear deck. One must completely pull out the rear seats, C pillar trim, and rear speakers to access the mounts. After reading the section pertaining to the removal it went step by step without a hitch.

            Manual also includes helpful info like wiring diagrams and fuse locations.


            BMW E38 Service Manual
            Been waiting for Bentley to release this BMW Service Manual for the E38 Seven Series BMW ever since we purchased our 2001 740iL BMW. It's highly recommended and extremely useful to all E38 BMW owners. 1000 + pages of excellent photos and how too's for the car.
            Don't be without it. Be informed and knowledgeable before you discuss any repairs to your car with your Dealer or mechanic.

            An excellent in depth manual, comprehensive, informative, well explained especially with electrical circuits etc which seems to be my main maintenance concern.

              Molecular Cloning Manual
              The books arrived in good condition, but it took a long time to arrive here.


              Molecular cloning: a lab Manual
              This manual is high quality for the study of biotechnology. The authors collected lot of protocols and provided more detail of principle than previous two editions. The third edition involved three volumes. The manual is very useful for lab researcher.

              This revised version of the Standard Lab Handbook has been improved, completed with new techniques and search is facilitated by the indices added at the end of each volume.


              a formerly essential classic
              For many years the previous edition of this set was an essential reference in molecular biology labs. At present however, there are too many good protocol books out there to really make this argument. The book is pretty strong in explaining theory, and answering the question of why certain procedures are either necessary, useful, or worthless, however it is not as practical as many other books, such as Short Protocols. Still a good reference overall, but no longer stands alone, and I recommend checking out as much of the competition as possible before deciding whether to make the investment in it.


              the BIBLE of every biologist
              So few and so much to say about this bible of Biology at the bench...
              You'll really find everything you want in it, including the composition of all the buffers and solutions, the new protocols for high-tech biology (FLIM-FRET), some paragraphs about bioinformatics and more.Incredibly precise, this book is consequently a big book (3 huge volumes), so better know exactly wath you're looking for before opening it!

                Physics Solution manual
                I thought that this book was going to have the solutions to all the questions from the physics book, but it is only the solutions manual to the questions from the answers that are already in the back of the book.


                Good Review
                This is a good study guide. It gives the actual working solutions to the problems. The only reason I did not give it a five is that it only has a selected number of problems instead of them all. The ones it has are explained quite well. If your professor dosen't give you a solution then this is the next best thing to get a answer.

                  Companion to textbook, easy to use and thorough. Covers all areas if beginning to use APA style seriously for papers on undergraduate or graduate level.


                  It is an obscure training guide
                  This book was of no use to me. It is difficult to follow, it does not provide an easy way to figure out what do you need to do for all the sections required in an APA style paper. And then if you had the time to do what this book say you first would have do a "test" on what you know. And then "attempt" to use this book to craft your own paper is another challenge. Maybe this books needs another book to explain its use. I found that it is easier to use the APA manual itself.
                  I would not buy this book if I had another chance.
